ESC Member Prof. Robertsson has been awarded a prestigious ERC Advanced Grant

Prof. Robertsson, Professor affiliated with the Department of Earth Sciences and member of the Energy Science Center, has been awarded a European Research Council Advanced Grant.

The funded research project, MAchine for Time Reversal and Immersive wave eXperimentation (MATRIX), will investigate a fundamental new approach to seismic wave experimentation that involves fully immersing a physical seismic experiment within a virtual numerical environment.

Johan O.A. Robertsson has been Professor of Applied Geophysics and Head of the Exploration and Environmental Geophysics (EEG) Group at the Institute of Geophysics in the Department of Earth Sciences since 2012.

The Exploration and Environmental Geophysics (EEG) Group is investigating all areas of applied geophysics from acquisition to processing, modelling and inversion for exploration and environmental problems.

Four researchers from ETH Zurich have been awarded the ERC Advanced Grants. More details available.
